How to Find Secret Rooms in Sephiria
Use the same routine in every generated room: clear, scan, compare, then test. Empty map space or scenery beyond a wall can help you choose where to look first, but neither proves that a secret room spawned there.
- Clear every enemy.Wait until explosions, projectiles, and hit sounds stop covering the wall.
- Walk the full boundary.Check every wall face and the decorative border along its upper edge.
- Compare neighboring tiles.Look for a crack, broken line, mismatched cap, or pattern that stops repeating cleanly.
- Stand close and attack. Some weapons need several hits before the wall response becomes obvious.Listen for a different hit sound.
- Recheck before leaving.A projectile may have opened the route during combat, and the map may not draw a connection line.No map line does not mean no passage.

Where to Look for the Crack
The clue does not always sit in the center of the wall. Community descriptions indicate that its visible position can change with the direction of the hidden room.
| Hidden room direction | Where to inspect | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Above the current room | Wall face and upper border | A crack or interruption may cross both the wall surface and its top edge. |
| Left, right, or below | Upper border of the wall tile | The only visible difference may be a broken or mismatched top border. |
| Any direction | The complete wall section | Stand close and test more than one point if the pattern still looks suspicious. |
Treat layout as a clue, not proof. An adjacent-looking space is a reason to inspect that edge, not evidence that a secret room must exist.

Secret Room Wall Examples by Floor
Each pair below shows the same area before and after the route opens. Use the images to learn how each biome hides an entrance; they are visual examples, not guaranteed map coordinates.
Community visual reference · Needs 1.0 recheck| Floor | Area | Main visual lesson | Result after opening |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mole Stronghold | Compare the repeating stone cap along the top of the wall. | A vertical passage appears through the dark wall. |
| 2 | Woodlands | Look for a break in the branch-like wall pattern. | A long green passage replaces the blocked section. |
| 3 | Library | Compare the decorative stone border instead of the dark space above it. | A vertical stone corridor appears. |
| 4 | Wasteland | The rocky entrance can be partly hidden by scenery. | A red portal confirms that the route has opened. |
| 5 | Rooted Cave | Inspect irregular stones along the lower edge. | A downward blue corridor becomes visible. |
Floor 1 - Mole Stronghold
The dark wall face gives very little information. Compare the repeating stone cap along the upper edge and test the section where the pattern stops repeating cleanly.
Floor 2 - Woodlands
Woodlands hides the entrance inside a branch-like wall pattern. Compare the blocked section with the branches immediately beside it instead of searching for a large doorway outline.
Floor 3 - Library
The useful clue is in the decorative stone border. Compare the repeated cap tiles and attack the section where the rhythm of the pattern changes.
Floor 4 - Wasteland
Wasteland scenery can obscure the suspected section. In this Compendium example, the opened route is confirmed by a red portal appearing against the rocky wall.
Floor 5 - Rooted Cave
Check the stones along the lower boundary. The successful opening changes the irregular edge into a visible downward corridor.

How to Open a Suspicious Wall
Stand close to the suspected section and attack it several times. One swing may not make the response obvious, and some weapons can take longer to produce a clear hit sound or wall reaction. Shift slightly along the same edge before rejecting a pattern that still looks wrong.
A distinct hit sound or response is stronger evidence than an empty space on the map.
Combat effects can cover the change, so test again after the room becomes calm.
The route may open during combat without an obvious connection line appearing on the map.
Do not spend time attacking every wall before clearing the room. Combat noise makes the useful feedback harder to hear and see.
Library Secret Study After Mad Scientist Erma
Special unmarked passage · Needs 1.0 verificationAfter defeating Mad Scientist Erma, cross the bridge into the room with the table. Walk into the wall immediately left of the table, near the bottom-left side of the room. There is no visible crack and you do not need to attack the wall. The hidden area remains dark until you enter it and contains a lore interactable.
Before: the area left of the table appears completely dark. After: entering the unmarked wall reveals the passage and room beyond it.

Pocket Dimension - Not a Normal Secret Room
Separate rare event · Community reportedThe Pocket Dimension is a separate rare event with its own room and items. It is not opened by attacking a cracked wall, so do not count Pocket Dimension encounters when estimating ordinary hidden-room spawns or rewards. Community reports describe it as uncommon, but no verified 1.0 probability is available.
If you are trying to unlock the Traveler achievement, look for a normal cracked-wall room instead.

Possible Secret Room Rewards
Normal secret rooms can provide run utility, currency, experience, or an occasional build-changing item. The values below come from the community Compendium and are not official Sephiria 1.0 drop rates or guaranteed bundles.
Community Compendium · Needs 1.0 verification| Possible reward | What the source reports | How to present it |
|---|---|---|
| Dice | 1-2 Dice; used to reroll item rewards. | Possible reward, not guaranteed. |

| Random Artifact | Listed as significantly rarer than the other rewards. | Rare possibility; no percentage available. |
| Mystic Pot | Combines up to three deposited Artifacts into one Tablet. | Explain the inventory tradeoff before use. |
| Leaves | The sheet shows 230-280 Leaves and separately notes a possible 200-300 range. | Keep both figures labeled as old community data. |
| Experience | A small amount of EXP. | No exact amount verified. |

How Many Secret Rooms Can Spawn in a Run?
The reviewed official patch notes do not publish a guaranteed number, per-floor rate, per-run cap, or spawn probability. Older community observations such as “one or two per run” are too limited and version-dependent to present as a rule.
The community Compendium says Qliphoth's Temple on Floor 7 had no hidden rooms in the version it documented. Treat this as a historical source note, not a guaranteed Sephiria 1.0 rule.
Version Notes
Why older screenshots and discussions may look different
Several Early Access updates changed the visibility or behavior of secret-room entrances. These notes explain conflicting old screenshots; they do not establish current spawn rates.
| Version | Historical change |
|---|---|
| 0.7.8 | Fixed passages that could not be destroyed when an attack dealt zero damage. |
| 0.7.12 | Improved the visibility of secret-room cracks in Woodlands. |
| 0.7.29-0.7.30 | Corrected misplaced crack tiles, then temporarily stopped grassland crack tiles during a crash workaround. |
| 0.8.8 | Fixed certain Rooted Cave rooms whose secret entrances could not be entered. |
| 1.0 guide status | Sources rechecked on August 8, 2026. No official fixed room total or reward probability was found. |
Official sources: 0.7.29 and 0.7.30 crack fixes and 0.8.8 Rooted Cave fix.
FAQ
How do I find a secret room in Sephiria?
Clear the room, inspect each wall face and upper border, and compare the pattern with neighboring tiles. Attack a cracked or mismatched section several times until the passage opens.
Why did one hit not open the wall?
Some weapons and entrances need several hits before the sound or wall response becomes obvious. Stand close, shift slightly along the same edge, and test again after combat effects disappear.
Are secret rooms only available in Hard Mode?
No. Archived community reports say secret rooms existed outside Hard Mode. That does not mean every generated room, floor, or run contains one.
Why is there no connection line on my map?
Community reports say an opened secret passage may not draw an obvious map connection. If projectiles hit the walls during combat, check every edge before leaving the room.
Do the screenshots show fixed secret-room locations?
No. They show how the entrance looks in each area. Use them to recognize wall patterns rather than memorize coordinates in a generated layout.
Is the Library Secret Study a normal breakable-wall room?
No. After defeating Mad Scientist Erma, cross the bridge and walk into the wall immediately left of the table. The passage has no visible crack and does not need to be attacked.
Is the Pocket Dimension the same as a secret room?
No. The collected community sources treat it as a separate rare event with its own room and items. Do not include it when estimating ordinary cracked-wall room counts or rewards.
How many secret rooms appear in one run?
No official fixed number, cap, or Sephiria 1.0 spawn rate was found in the reviewed sources. Older one-run observations should not be treated as a rule.
Did this guide help you find a secret room?
Great - which floor was it on?
Before you leave the room:
- Clear every enemy.
- Compare the upper border, not only the wall center.
- Attack the suspicious section several times.
- Recheck walls hit by projectiles during combat.
- If you are after the Secret Study, use the unmarked wall left of the table after Erma.
