All 27 Sephiria Costumes, Effects, and Unlocks

Eight Costumes are available from the beginning, while 19 are unlocked by completing specific challenges. A Costume is more than a skin: it can change starting items, stats, movement rules, resource use, or the way a build scales.

Roster check

Data is checked against the community Costume roster labeled v1.0.24. Older Sephiria guides may show different effects because several Costumes were rebalanced or completely reworked before and during the 1.0 release.

Best Sephiria Costumes by Playstyle

There is no universal best Costume in Sephiria. The useful choice is the Costume that strengthens the mechanic your build already uses, or whose penalty your build can safely bypass.

These groups are playstyle suggestions, not a tier list. Actual performance still depends on your weapon, Artifacts, Tablets, Miracles, inventory layout, and Hard Mode settings.

Elemental Magic

Red-Clothed Cat, Frog, Wizard Bunny

Choose the Costume that matches your main element. All three gain elemental amplification but reduce Physical Damage Amplification.

Grimoire and MP

Red-Hooded Rabbit, White Rabbit, Scholar Lizard, Ghost

These Costumes change MP economy, starting spells, or Grimoire costs. Scholar Lizard and Ghost provide extreme resource advantages with severe survival or weapon penalties.

Critical and Special Attacks

Brown Rabbit, White Rabbit, Otter, Deer

Otter directly supports Critical Chance, while White Rabbit supports Special Attacks. Brown Rabbit and Deer favor builds that can absorb or ignore their Critical penalties.

Artifact and Companion

Mole, Turtle

Mole directly increases Companion Damage, while Turtle favors Artifact Damage at the cost of Weapon Damage.

Straightforward Stat Profiles

Pink Bunny, Armored Rabbit, Brown Rabbit

These Costumes modify a small number of core stats and are easier to understand, although their penalties still matter.

How to Unlock Costumes in Sephiria

The 19 unlockable Costumes use stat thresholds, item collection, events, restricted clears, cumulative kills, ownership, and story progression. Conditions that say “in one adventure” must be completed during that same adventure.

Sephiria Characters FAQ

How many Costumes are in Sephiria?

The roster checked against v1.0.24 contains 27 playable Costumes: eight are available by default and 19 must be unlocked.

Are Sephiria Costumes cosmetic only?

No. A Costume can change stats, starting items, resource rules, movement, damage scaling, or other gameplay mechanics. Appearance variants are cosmetic.

What is the best Costume in Sephiria?

There is no universal best Costume. The right choice depends on your weapon, Artifacts, Tablets, Miracles, inventory layout, and Hard Mode settings. Choose a Costume that supports the mechanic your build uses or whose penalty your build can bypass.

How do I unlock new Costumes?

Complete the unlock condition shown in the Costume directory. Conditions include stat thresholds, cumulative kills, event completions, restricted clears, item collection, and story progression.

How do I change my Costume?

Return to Bunnyville and use the Costume-changing interaction before starting your next adventure. Select an unlocked Costume and confirm the choice.

Do Appearance variants count as additional Costumes?

No. Appearance variants change the visual style of an existing Costume and do not increase the playable Costume count.

Why do older guides show different Costume effects?

Several Costumes were rebalanced or reworked during Early Access and the 1.0 release. Check the version label and use current values instead of pre-1.0 screenshots.

Is Elru a playable Costume?

No. Elru is an NPC connected to a Bunnyville quest, not a playable Costume. See the complete Elru location guide for all three locations. Open the Elru guide.
